Privacy notice

Last updated 25 October 2026.

This notice explains what information Data in Hand collects through this website and our software, and what we do with it. In short: very little, because our products keep your data on your own devices or in your own Microsoft 365.

Who we are

Data in Hand, 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. Email support@datainhand.co.uk with any question about your information.

This website

  • The site uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers, and has no forms.
  • Our hosting provider, Netlify, keeps short-term technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and protect the site.
  • Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them.

When you email us

We use your name, email address and what you tell us to reply, to provide quotes, licences and support, and to keep records we're required to keep, such as invoices. Our lawful bases are taking steps towards or performing a contract, and our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries. We keep enquiries that don't lead anywhere for up to 2 years, and customer and accounting records for 6 years. Our email is hosted by Microsoft 365.

Our software

  • Single and stand-alone editions keep everything you enter on your own device. We don't receive it.
  • Team editions save your data in your organisation's Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams). Your organisation controls it, and we have no access to it.
  • Licences: a licence key is checked on your device. Some apps bought through a marketplace check your order number with that marketplace and keep only a scrambled copy of it, never your name or email.
  • Online demos keep what you enter in your browser only.

Sharing

We don't sell your information or share it for marketing. We only share it with the service providers named above, or where the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, or for it to be corrected or deleted, and you can object to how we use it. Email support@datainhand.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
